Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in a GP practice in Southport. You will run your own clinics within a multidisciplinary team, delivering autonomous assessments and safe management of urgent and routine patient needs.

Applicants should hold an Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7) with an Independent Prescribing qualification preferred. Flexible sessions up to 4 days per week and supportive admin workflow are provided.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate) required.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience in primary/urgent care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct acute and same-day access clinics.
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations.
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Prescribing within scope where qualified.
• Manage follow-up actions and referral workflows.
• Document patient encounters clearly in the practice system.

Job description

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work for a GP practice in Southport. This role is ideal for an experienced ACP from a nursing, paramedic, or allied health background who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments, safe decision-making and efficient patient management within a structured primary care environment.

You will join an established multidisciplinary team and run your own clinics, supporting both urgent and routine patient demand. The practice offers clear pathways, strong administrative support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system

Requirements

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate)
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision
• Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

• Flexible sessions up to 4 days per week
