Progress Rail Locomotive is recruiting a Locomotive Technician for our Peterborough depot to deliver fleet reliability through timely, safe maintenance and engineering projects on a rotating fleet of freight locomotives.

Your role will involve refurbishment, servicing and exams with a proactive approach, cross-rail transfer experience welcomed and a forte in problem solving and communication. Based near Peterborough, with UK right to work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated problem solving and fault diagnosis skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• A proactive, self-starting approach to complex maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification and fault-finding activities.
• Lead engineer for contracts, projects or tasks as necessary to support operational performance.
• Updating SAP system to ensure availability of parts.
• Inputting data into the locomotive history tracking system.
• Assisting other engineers on the team.
• Conducting audits in line with Company quality management standards and processes.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Acting as a role model of Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Policies.
