Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Leeds seeks a Field Service Technical Advice Specialist to join its Freight Global Services team. You will diagnose and troubleshoot PowerHaul locomotives, train customers at the corporate facility, and develop expertise in electrical fault-finding and system diagnostics.

You’ll work on-site with a small team, travel within the UK, and progress through structured training and accreditation programs to advance your technical career at Wabtec.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold an HNC or higher in mechanical or electrical discipline.
• A high degree of mechanical and/or electrical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Willing to undertake technical product training.
• Diesel engine maintenance experience is beneficial.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment (Multimeter, Megger).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to read basic electrical schematics.
• Ability to interface at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
• Must possess a full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support and on-the-job training during maintenance activities.
• Offer clear communication and technical guidance to customer production and management, including troubleshooting and tooling needs.
• Analyse online performance data and assist with diagnostics.
• Travel within the UK to customer sites.
