Job summary

NHS England is seeking a Locality Workforce Development Lead to work within the Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board Training Hub, delivering operational outcomes for national workforce training and education requirements across the health and care system.

The role collaborates with workstreams across Surrey, Sussex, Kent, and the South East to reduce variation, supports local strategies for Primary Care workforce development, and uses data to shape recruitment, development and retention

Qualifications

Job summary

Working within Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board Primary Care Training Hub (primarily for Sussex), the post-holder will act as the point of contact for specific activities and will be responsible for ensuring operational delivery of NHS England Workforce Training and Education requirements and associated primary care workforce programmes and projects across the health and care system.

This role will also work within a wider matrix to enable workstream leads to connect across Kent Surrey and Sussex, the South East and nationally to reduce variation and duplication as well as learn from other areas as and where required. The Training Hub Locality Workforce Development Lead will cover workstreams covering Surrey and Sussex and/or at a level depending on the needs of the Training Hub.

The role is key in working with colleagues to shape, codesign and support the implementation of local strategies for the development of the primary care workforce, identifying and realising opportunities to achieve key outcomes in line with national policy. They will make use of workforce and project data available to understand the needs of the workforce now and in the future to embed recruitment, development and retention strategies that relates to the respective integrated care system (ICS) and Training Hub population health needs.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work closely with a range of local stakeholders to support developing the Training Hub agenda within their governance arrangements, enabling existing, and new, workstreams as required by the Surrey & Sussex PCTH programme and activities specific to individual workforce roles.

This will include ICSh level programmes of work as agreed with through the respective Primary Care Workforce Implementation Group linked to educational projects, placements and educational support for learners of the current and future workforce.
