Job summary

Driver Hire is recruiting an experienced Skip Driver for a local assignment in Southend-on-Sea. The role involves delivering and collecting skips, operating skip lorries, and ensuring loads are secure and compliant with regulations.

You will conduct vehicle checks, complete paperwork, and provide on-site customer service. Ideal candidates hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph card, with skip driving experience and a strong understanding of road safety.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence is required.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph card are mandatory.
• Skip driving experience is essential.
• Good knowledge of road safety and regulations is required.
• Strong communication and time management skills are essential.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect skips safely and efficiently.
• Operate skip lorries (chain lift / roll-on roll-off).
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Ensure loads are secure and compliant with regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service on-site.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately.
