Job summary

Safran Engineering Services in the UK is seeking a Loads Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to join our expanding team. You will perform load calculations for sizing studies of future aircraft and major MOD projects, starting with component load determinations.

You will work on ground loads, flight loads, aeroelastics, and collaborate across modules, applying Python for coding and MATLAB for tools, with a focus on accuracy, planning, and clear communication in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or aerospace or structural degree required.
• Proficiency in Python is mandatory.
• Experience with flight/ground loads and aeroelastics is favored.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Ground loads (Landings, Brakings, Turns, Rollings, ...)

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking for a Loads Engineer to join our growing team for initially a 12m fixed term contract.

Load calculations used for sizing study of future aircrafts or for major MODs. For a start, determination of component loads (calculation of the loads on specifics parts) and could be in the future::

• Ground loads (Landings, Brakings, Turns, Rollings, ...)
• Flight loads (Longitudinal and Lateral Manoeuvres, Load Alleviation Functions, Gust, Failure cases ...)
• Aeroelastics calculation (Flutter calculations, control surfaces limit cycle oscillations)

Requirements

• Mechanical / Aerospace / Structural Engineering degree
• Technical skills:
• Flight Physics, Flight Loads, Ground Loads, Aeroelastics, Aerodynamics
• Know the behavior of an airplane, to have physical sense
• Coding: Python (mandatory)
• Tools: Matlab
• Strong ability to plan and schedule activities across multiple modules
• Pay attention to details
• Effective communication skills, able to clearly define expectations and gain understanding
• Team spirit with a capacity to interact with multicultural teams
