Job summary

Daval Associates in Preston is seeking an experienced Load Shovel Operator for an immediate start. The role offers a £500 starting bonus, 47.5 hours weekly, and Monday–Friday shifts with a 6:00am start. You will safely load recyclable materials and help maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Applicants must have a valid Load Shovel licence, proven operat ing experience, strong English skills, and a reliable, safety‑minded approach. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Load Shovel licence/certificate.
• Proven experience operating a loading shovel.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Ability to follow Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Reliable and responsible approach to work.
• Immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a loading shovel for processing and loading recyclable materials.
• Load and move waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily machinery and equipment checks and report defects.
• Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely.
• Promptly clear spillages and maintain a clean working environment.
• Operate machinery responsibly while following all Health & Safety procedures.
• Support weighbridge administration duties when required.
• Work effectively as part of the wider waste management team.
