Job summary

Daval Associates is seeking an experienced Load Shovel Operator for immediate start at our Morecambe site. You will safely operate loading equipment to process recyclable materials, load waste efficiently, and perform routine machine checks.

A licence and strong safety focus are essential, with a reliable and punctual approach to work. The role offers 42 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday shifts, with 6:00am starts and a Saturday finish at 1:00pm.

Qualifications

• Valid Load Shovel licence/certificate.
• Experience operating a loading shovel.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a loading shovel for processing and loading recyclable materials.
• Load and move waste and recyclables safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily machinery checks and report defects.
• Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely.
• Promptly clear spillages and maintain a clean working environment.
• Operate machinery in line with Health & Safety procedures.
• Support weighbridge administration duties when required.
• Work effectively as part of the waste management team.

Location: Salt Ayre, Morecambe

Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour

Hours: 42 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Tuesday to Saturday

Start Time: 6:00am starts, with Saturday finishing at 1:00pm

About the Role

£500 Starting Bonus

Receive a £500 starting bonus, paid in two instalments:

• £250 after successfully completing 6 weeks of work
• £250 after successfully completing 12 weeks of work

We are currently looking for an experienced Load Shovel Operator to join a leading waste management operation in Morecambe.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator looking for ongoing work with an established and reputable employer.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a loading shovel for the processing and loading of recyclable materials.
• Load and move waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently.

Requirements Essential
