Job summary

Think Recruitment is seeking a Waste & Recycling Operative in Monmouthshire for an ongoing temporary contract. The role involves collecting domestic and commercial waste, handling various recycling streams, and delivering a courteous public service.

You will work 37 hours weekly with pay at £16.78 per hour, paid weekly via umbrella. Start date ASAP, with potential extension for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience within waste collection, recycling or environmental services.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding role.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to high-quality service.
• Willing to work bank holidays and occasional weekends.
• HGV Licence desirable for relief driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Collect domestic and commercial waste and recycling on scheduled routes.
• Collect various recycling streams from households and businesses.
• Return bins safely after collections and keep public areas clean.
• Complete assisted collections and additional allocated duties.
• Monitor contaminated recycling and report as required.
• Provide a professional, courteous service to the public.
• Support litter picking, town centre sweeping and bulky waste tasks.

Waste & Recycling Operative

Experienced and professional Waste & Recycling Operative required to work with a leading and highly reputable organisation.

• Pay: £16.78 per hour (Paid weekly via umbrella)


• Hours: 37 Hours


• Start Date: ASAP


• Duration: Ongoing

Waste & Recycling Operative

• Collect domestic and commercial waste and recycling in line with scheduled collection routes


• Collect food, garden, residual, hygiene and dry recycling from households and businesses


• Return bins and receptacles safely after collections, ensuring public areas remain clean and accessible


• Complete assisted collections and additional allocated collections as required


• Monitor and report contaminated recycling in accordance with procedures


• Deliver a professional, polite and courteous service to members of the public


• Support additional environmental duties including litter picking, town centre sweeping and bulky waste collections when required


• Work safely in line with Health & Safety policies and safe working practices

Requirements

• Must have experience within waste collection, recycling or environmental services

• Must be reliable, punctual and committed to delivering a high-quality service
