Premier Technical Recruitment is helping a Leicester-based engineering client recruit a Load Bank Sales Engineer. You will be the front-line contact for customers, developing relationships and handling technical enquiries while processing orders and producing costed solutions.

Role requires at least 2 years in a similar sales role related to load banks or high-power equipment, and an electrical engineering qualification (HNC or above). A bonus and benefits package are included.

Our client has been established for more than a century and are recognised as global market leaders in the design and manufacture of niche electrical solutions, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Load Bank Sales Engineer to complement their professional technical Sales team.

Based in Enderby in Leicester and reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the successful Load Bank Sales Engineer candidate will be the front-line contact for customers, tasked with developing strong relationships and handling technical enquiries and processing orders, and your experience will allow you to understand customer requirements, identify appropriate solutions and produce preliminary designs which can be costed and quoted to ensure profitable business for the company.

Acting as the interface between client, customer and a centralized Load Bank resource, core duties for this varied and challenging Load Bank Sales Engineer will include (but not be limited to):

• Processing customer enquiries (via telephone, email or face to face) and managing, understanding and interpreting their requirements before offering designs and costed solutions to satisfy these requirements in conjunction with the centralized Load Bank resource, whilst maximizing the benefit for the company.
• Producing quotations/tenders in a timely, clear, detailed and accurate manner and following up to secure orders
• Maintaining expert knowledge of products and applications and providing pre-sales technical expertise and product education to new and existing customers
• Ensuring orders are processed quickly and that information allowing for design and manufacturing is passed to the relevant stakeholders
• Ensuring that customers are kept informed of order (contract) status and that any issues are resolved quickly
• Maintaining accurate up to date records of enquiries, quotations, orders and customer activity, sales support documentation as well as customer accounts on the ERP system.
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities both in the UK and overseas

It is envisaged that the successful Load Bank Sales Engineer candidate will demonstrate at least 2 years previous experience in a similar sales role associated with either load banks sales or related products such as diesel generators and be qualified to at least HNC or above in electrical engineering or equivalent apprenticeship. Essentially you will possess a solid understanding of related electrical concepts; voltage, current, power (active and reactive) along with a strong technical mindset with the ability to read and interpret technical data and translate to others and a customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills at all levels.

Knowledge of and contacts in the Data Centre sector, a degree in electrical, electronic or control and engineering, familiarity with either large OEMs and contractors or international customers or previous experience or knowledge of high power or high voltage systems will prove distinctly advantageous.
