Job summary

VirtueTech Recruitment Group is seeking an AI Researcher/Machine Learning Engineer in London to build, retrain and re-rank LLMs for complex financial markets. This hands-on role involves training, fine-tuning and deploying models, not just API calls.

You’ll work with founders and the core engineering team, owning problems from data to production. Hybrid work in London, with strong ownership over solutions and measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with ML models including training, fine-tuning, evaluation and improvement.
• Experience with PyTorch and transformer-based architectures (BERT, RoBERTa, Llama, etc.).
• Familiarity with RAG concepts, embeddings training and evaluation, retrieval and reranking.

Responsibilities

• Developing and deploying LLM-powered systems using PyTorch.
• Building and improving embedding and reranking models.
• Designing datasets and generating synthetic training data.
• Working on semantic search and document intelligence systems.
• Running experiments and building evaluation frameworks.
• Optimising models for production use cases.
• Collaborating with domain experts to solve complex workflows.
