Job description

We have a rare opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic individual to become part of our well-established team responsible for the delivery and success of the Great Yorkshire Show .

As Livestock & Entries Officer , you'll play a vital role within the Livestock & Entries Department, providing high-quality administrative support and helping ensure the smooth running of livestock entries and related activities. This is a permanent, full-time role operating on an annualised hours contract to reflect the seasonal nature of the work - with busier periods leading up to the Show and quieter times afterward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange Livestock Section Committee meetings and produce accurate, comprehensive minutes.
  • Administer the invitation and coordination of Show Stewards, building strong working relationships with Section Chairpersons.
  • Work with our online entry system to manage exhibitor information and livestock entries.
  • Handle a wide range of enquiries from exhibitors, farmers, and the general public.
  • Carry out general administrative duties including database updates, photocopying, and preparing show packs for exhibitors.

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative and be able to cope under pressure.
  • A positive attitude, common sense, and a good sense of humour!
Essential
  • Agricultural knowledge or experience working within the farming sector is essential.
