Job summary

VGC Group is seeking an experienced Site Agent for a major rail infrastructure project in Liverpool. You will manage site operations, lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to budget while meeting quality standards and client requirements.

The role requires proven rail project experience, strong leadership, and a solid understanding of Network Rail standards. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Agent on rail infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary construction teams.
• SMSTS and CSCS are required; PTS preferred.
• First Aid at Work qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards, company procedures, and health & safety regulations.
• Monitor project progress and programme performance.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and resources.
• Review and implement RAMS, permits, and work package plans.
• Manage site documentation, quality records, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project management teams.
• Support commercial activities including cost control and change management.
