Job summary

VGC Group is recruiting a Site Agent to manage a major rail infrastructure project in Liverpool. You will lead day-to-day site operations, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure delivery is on time, to budget and to required safety standards.

You will liaise with clients and stakeholders, implement RAMS and work package plans, monitor progress, and contribute to cost control and change management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Site Agent on rail infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and procedures.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary construction teams.
• Experience delivering civil engineering, rail, track, structures, or station projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards, company procedures, and health & safety regulations.
• Monitor project progress and programme performance.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and resources.
• Review and implement RAMS, permits, and work package plans.
• Manage site documentation, quality records, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.

• Support commercial activities including cost control and change management.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a leading contractor delivering a major rail infrastructure project in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and proactive individual to play a key role in the successful delivery of works within a challenging and fast-paced rail environment.

As Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and in accordance with quality standards and client requirements.

• CSCS Card.
