Job summary

Everyturn Mental Health is expanding into London with Woodland House in Beckenham. We are seeking a Peer Support Worker to draw on your lived experience to inspire hope, support residents, and promote recovery in a 12-14 bed, clinically led community setting with 24/7 clinical support.

The role is Mon-Fri 9-5 with occasional evenings and weekends, and enhanced rates for after-hours work. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and partners at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery.
• Commitment to recovery, empowerment and growth.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Compassionate, person-centred approach.
• Understanding of peer support boundaries and reflective practice.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic IT skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and group peer support to residents.
• Build trusting relationships based on empathy and mutual respect.
• Help residents develop confidence, independence and self-management.
• Assist residents to identify strengths and set personal goals.
• Facilitate access to community activities and local services.
• Encourage social inclusion and supportive networks.
• Advocate for residents and ensure their voices are heard.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to support recovery outcomes.
