Job summary

Nottingham City Centre is recruiting an electrically qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the Facilities team. The role blends electrical maintenance with support for temporary power and live event delivery for concerts, sport fixtures and major public events.

You’ll work with the Facilities Manager to keep the venue and building services safe, reliable and fully operational. Duties include planned and reactive electrical maintenance, installing temporary event power, supervising staff and

Qualifications

• An electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Previous electrical maintenance or installation experience.
• Experience across multiple engineering or maintenance disciplines.
• Knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance.
• A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Experience producing risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• The ability to diagnose problems and work without close supervision.
• Good IT, reporting and documentation skills.
• A flexible and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Completing electrical installations and infrastructure improvements.
• Installing and managing temporary electrical supplies for events.
• Supporting event power and audio-visual requirements.
• Managing technical delivery during sporting fixtures and event nights.
• Completing general non-electrical maintenance and PPM tasks.
• Taking responsibility for designated electrical systems and assets.
• Supervising maintenance operatives and facilities support staff when required.
• Managing contractors, suppliers and electrical materials.
• Using building and asset management systems to record completed work.
• Producing risk assessments, safe working procedures and technical reports.
• Supporting apprentices with their training and development.
• Ensuring compliance with electrical, health and safety and statutory requirements.
