Job summary

Nottingham City Centre is recruiting an electrically qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer to join the Facilities team. The role blends electrical maintenance with support for temporary power and live event delivery for concerts, sport fixtures and major public events.

Qualifications

• An electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Previous electrical maintenance or installation experience.

• Knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance.
• A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Experience producing risk assessments and safe working procedures.
• The ability to diagnose problems and work without close supervision.
• Good IT, reporting and documentation skills.
• A flexible and customer-focused approach.

Are you an electrically qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer looking for something more varied than a conventional maintenance role?

This is a rare opportunity to join the Facilities team at one of the UK’s leading sporting and live entertainment venues. Alongside planned and reactive maintenance, you’ll support temporary electrical installations, event power and technical delivery for concerts, sporting fixtures and major public events.

It’s a genuinely varied position combining electrical engineering, general facilities maintenance, event support and responsibility during live event nights.

The Role

Working alongside the Facilities Manager, you will help keep the venue, infrastructure and building services safe, reliable and fully operational.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance

What We’re Looking For

You will be an experienced Electrical Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer who can work confidently within a busy public venue.

You will need:

• An electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification

• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• Previous electrical maintenance or installation experience

• Experience working across multiple engineering or maintenance disciplines

• Knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance

• A good understanding of workplace health and safety

• Experience producing risk assessments and safe working procedures

• The ability to diagnose problems and work without close supervision

• Good IT, reporting and documentation skills

• A flexible and customer-focused approach

Experience with temporary event power, audio-visual systems, building management systems or supervising other team members would be particularly valuable.

IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, IPAF, PASMA, ECS/JIB or forklift qualifications would be advantageous. An additional qualification in plumbing, heating, ventilation or another non-electrical trade would also be welcomed.

A Different Kind of Engineering Role

This is not a standard factory or commercial-building maintenance position. You’ll work in a fast-moving live venue where priorities can change quickly and engineering performance directly affects events, customers and performers.

The 40-hour working week requires flexibility and will include days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays according to the event schedule.

You’ll need to remain calm under pressure, manage multiple priorities and communicate confidently with colleagues, contractors, event teams and customers.
