Job summary

Cornwall Staff Agency Ltd is seeking a temporary Sous Chef for an ongoing assignment in Newquay, Cornwall. The role includes a mix of shifts, with breakfast coverage and live-in accommodation available. Immediate start preferred for ongoing temporary recruitment.

The successful candidate will assist in daily kitchen operations, lead the Chef de Partie team, and uphold high standards of food quality and hygiene in a fast-paced hotel or high-volume kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Sous Chef or Head Chef in busy environments.
• Experience in busy hotel or high-volume kitchen settings.
• Ability to stay calm and organized during service.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Reliable team player with good time-management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Supervise and support Chef de Partie team.
• Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation.
• Ensure Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards are maintained.
• Support kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.
