Job summary

Fowey Hall Hotel in Cornwall seeks a motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our luxury culinary team. You will assist the Head Chef, help manage a section during service, and contribute to menu development with fresh seasonal produce from our kitchen garden.

We offer a permanent role at 48 hours per week with a £38,500 annual salary plus a generous service charge and benefits. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel setting.
• Culinary degree or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for cooking and a creative flair.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Food Preparation: Support the Head Chef in preparing dishes using fresh seasonal produce.
• Quality Control: Ensure food quality, presentation, and taste are consistently high.
• Manage a Section: Oversee a designated section during service.
• Support Team Members: Mentor junior chefs and help improve skills.
• Inventory and Ordering: Assist with stock control and placing orders.
• Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Maintain high cleanliness and safety standards.
• Assist in Menu Development: Contribute ideas for updates or specials.
