Job summary

Active Care Group in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Live In Support Worker to assist a male client with a spinal cord injury at his home. You will move into the client’s home for assignments, providing personal care, moving and handling, airway management, glucose monitoring, and social activities.

A full UK driving licence is required to drive the client and access the community. Training will be provided; previous spinal cord injury experience is advantageous.

While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract as care packages can change.**Meet the client:**Our client lives at home with his mother and their small dog and enjoys spending time with family and maintaining an active lifestyle.He has a passion for gardening, particularly growing vegetables, caring for houseplants and cultivating bonsai trees. He enjoys watching sports and films, dining out, and fishing. He is also a big fan of travel and enjoys talking about some of the amazing places he has visited, including America and Japan.It would be great if you could drive so that you can enjoy these activities together and support him to access the community. He values meaningful conversation, has a very dry sense of humour and enjoys having a laugh. He would welcome someone who will take the time to get to know him, with previous experience of supporting people with spinal cord injuries being desirable.
