Active Care Group is seeking a Female Live-In Support Worker to provide dedicated, one-to-one support for a male client with a spinal cord injury in a rural Gloucestershire family home. The role offers 12-hour live-in shifts, with two-week blocks and occasional holiday cover, plus 14.07% holiday pay on hours worked.
You will be comfortable driving and assisting with transport, and you must have the right to work in the UK.
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Female Live-In Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a male client living with a C5/6 spinal cord injury in a warm and welcoming family home in rural Gloucestershire.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity and quality of life.
The client lives with his wife, who works from home, and one of his adult daughters. His other daughter visits regularly.
The family home is set in a beautiful countryside location within a friendly village, offering a peaceful and welcoming environment. The village has a local shop, two pubs, a river and plenty of lovely countryside walks to enjoy.
The client can drive but finds driving increasingly difficult due to his condition and rural location. The successful candidate will therefore need to be confident and comfortable with driving and assisting with transport when required.
We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive individual who can build a strong professional relationship with the client and his family, while supporting him to maintain his independence and enjoy everyday life.
There are two small, friendly dogs in the home. They may bark initially but quickly settle. The support worker will not be expected to walk or care for them, although they may occasionally need feeding or company.
In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance. While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client. You’ll also receive an additional 14.07% holiday pay on every hour worked.
*Please note we are recruiting a Female Support Worker due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part Schedule 9
At Active Care Group we want everyone to feel welcome and supported. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment or interview process, just let us know and we’d be very happy to discuss this with you.
