Job Description: Live-in Housekeeper

Our client, with a substantial residence near Lewes in Sussex, is seeking a Live-in Housekeeper to assist with the smooth running of their busy family household. The residence is primarily used on weekends, so flexibility to work during these times is essential.

The property includes 10 ensuite bedrooms (usually 4 are used), 2 guest bathrooms, and is home to 2 adults, 3 children (aged 11, 12, and 14), a friendly cat, and 3 dogs. Candidates must be child and pet friendly.

A part-time cleaner visits 3 days a week.

Duties include:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the property, including reporting maintenance issues, organizing contractors, basic household administration, and running errands
• Hands-on housekeeping: vacuuming, cleaning, dusting, and polishing
• Laundry and ironing
• Wardrobe management
• Stock management for groceries and supplies

The ideal candidate will be experienced, proactive, and confident in managing a large household. They should be friendly, trustworthy, and have a calm, cheerful demeanor.

A driver is essential, as a car is provided for work purposes.

Accommodation:

A 2-bedroom maisonette with a bathroom, living room, kitchen, and utility room. It is currently unfurnished, but furniture can be arranged if needed.

Working Days and Hours:

Five days per week with two days off during the week. Occasional weekends off when the family is away. Candidates should be confident in managing their own schedule.
