Job summary

Cooley (UK) LLP is seeking an Associate Development Manager to join the Professional Development team in London. The role focuses on supporting associate staffing, utilisation and development within the Litigation department.

You will collaborate with practice group leaders, HR and Legal Talent to coordinate staffing, monitor workloads, and drive performance reviews and coaching, enabling strong associate growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in staffing and work allocation in a large firm or professional services.
• Strong skills in professional development and career coaching.

Responsibilities

• Manage the work allocation process for associates in the group.
• Monitor workloads and development, allocate new matters equitably.
• Track and analyse associate metrics and utilisation.
• Coordinate with staffing and hiring targets with Legal Talent.
• Support associate performance reviews and provide coaching.
• Mentor high-performing associates and address challenges.
• Facilitate onboarding and integration of attorneys with HR and Talent teams.
• Develop and implement legal and professional skills training.
• Collaborate with DEI and HR to promote inclusive culture.
• All other duties as assigned.
