Job summary

ScottishPower is seeking a Litigation Solicitor to join the Legal Team, focusing on commercial and construction disputes for major infrastructure projects that support the energy transition. You will advise on disputes, manage risk, and guide strategy with senior stakeholders to achieve pragmatic outcomes.

The role requires at least 4 years PQE, UK practising certificate, and a solutions-driven approach within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

Qualified solicitor with current UK practising certificate and minimum 4 years PQE in litigation and dispute resolution.
Experience advising on disputes with exposure to various dispute resolution processes; construction/infrastructure exposure is a plus.
Private practice or in-house background with pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and balancing legal risk with business priorities.

Responsibilities

Advise on a wide range of disputes including complex high-value construction disputes, shareholder disputes, property litigation, debt recovery, and contractual disputes.
Support dispute avoidance through early issue identification, contract interpretation and risk assessment to shape dispute strategy.
Manage disputes from instruction to resolution, including supervising external counsel when required.
