The ideal candidate will manage a varied litigation caseload, advise diverse clients, draft statements and court papers, and work with counsel while supporting junior colleagues. The role offers hybrid working and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in litigation.
• Broad knowledge across civil and commercial disputes, property litigation, and contentious probate.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while mentoring juniors.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with an interest in business development.

GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and progressive law firm, who are looking to appoint an experienced Litigation Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE to join their established Dispute Resolution team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, commercially minded litigator who enjoys handling a diverse and challenging caseload, building strong client relationships and achieving positive outcomes. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team with opportunities to work on complex, director-led cases, support junior colleagues and play an active role in the continued growth of the department.

The Role:

• Managing a varied litigation caseload from initial instruction through to conclusion.
• Advising a diverse client base, including businesses, trusts, charities and individuals.
• Handling a broad range of disputes, including general and civil litigation, commercial disputes, property litigation and contentious probate.
• Developing case strategies and providing clear, practical legal advice throughout proceedings.
• Drafting statements of case, witness statements, legal correspondence and other relevant documentation.
• Instructing and working closely with counsel and other professionals.
• Representing clients in court, mediation and settlement negotiations.
• Assisting with complex, director-led matters where appropriate.
• Supporting and supervising junior members of the team.
• Contributing to business development, networking and raising the profile of the Litigation team and firm.

The Ideal Candidate:

• A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in litigation.
• Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of contentious matters, ideally including civil and commercial disputes, property litigation and contentious probate.
• Candidates with more specialist litigation experience may also be considered.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• The ability to manage a caseload independently while delivering exceptional client service.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with an interest in mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.
