Legal Recruitment Specialist - UK & Ireland

Senior Litigation Solicitor, Belfast, Suit 7 years + PQE, Up to £65k. Our client is a reputable national law firm based in Belfast City Centre.

The firm seeks an experienced Solicitor for their Personal Injury team, offering an excellent opportunity to handle large loss claims within the Belfast team. Responsibilities include managing complex, high-value High Court cases involving casualty, motor claims, and catastrophic injuries. You will handle your own caseload of claims valued between £100k-£250k, with experience in indemnity, liability, and medical issues being preferred. Attention to detail and supervision skills are essential. You will engage with senior claims handlers in insurance clients.

Key Accountabilities

You will work as part of a team, managing files from receipt to resolution, including:

1. Managing a caseload of complex injury claims, including high-value multi-track and catastrophic injury claims.
2. Handling your own claims valued between £100k-£250k.
3. Communicating with insurer clients, managing queries, and providing updates.
4. Analyzing quantum evidence, preparing chronologies, and identifying anomalies.
5. Using medical knowledge to instruct experts and identify relevant issues.
6. Analyzing liability evidence and identifying gaps.
7. Drafting technical advice on claim handling, indemnity, liability, quantum, and causation issues.
8. Proactively managing next steps and discussing strategies with the Lead Lawyer.
9. Interviewing witnesses and drafting statements.
10. Liaising with parties involved in claims.
11. Drafting pleadings and applications.
12. Instructing counsel and attending conferences, mediations, and court proceedings.
13. Attending court as required.
14. Meeting performance targets and maintaining quality standards.
15. Delegating tasks to junior staff and supporting their development.
16. Maintaining case management systems with up-to-date information.
17. Ensuring compliance with LSNI regulations.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

• Qualified solicitor or relevant legal experience.
• Experience in indemnity, liability, and quantum.
• Experience with complex medical issues preferred.
• Critical thinking and quantum analysis skills.
• Good advocacy skills over the phone.
• Positive, confident, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of case law, litigation practice, and Court Rules.
