Job summary

Reed is seeking a Solicitor / Legal Executive / Senior Case Handler in Bristol, offering a hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home. You will manage a mixed caseload of serious injury cases and lead litigation from issue through trial, ensuring client and insurer communications meet high standards.

The role requires experience with motor and vulnerable road user claims and the ability to supervise trainees while actively contributing to team meetings and business

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing caseloads dealing with motor and vulnerable road users.
• Experience handling polytrauma, pain disorders, psychiatric disorders, brain injuries, and fatal injury claims is desirable.
• Strong litigation skills from issue to trial; able to meet deadlines and document work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of Fast Track & Intermediate cases focusing on serious injuries.
• Conduct litigation independently from proceedings to trial.
• Ensure compliance with service standards and communicate with clients and insurers.
• Provide training and supervision as directed to trainee case handlers.
• Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to business development.
• Handle administrative duties as required.

Join our clients Claimant Serious and Catastrophic Personal Injury team, a national law firm known for delivering high-quality legal services. Reed are seeking a professional with expertise in handling cases involving motor and vulnerable road users such as cyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians. This role is ideal for someone who is adept at managing a diverse caseload and is committed to achieving excellent outcomes for our clients.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage a mixed caseload of Fast Track & Intermediate cases, focusing on serious and catastrophic injuries.
• Conduct litigation independently on own files from the issue of proceedings through to trial.
• Ensure compliance with agreed service standards and effectively communicate with individuals and insurer clients.
• Provide training and case planning support to trainee case handlers; undertake supervision duties as directed.
• Participate actively in weekly team meetings and contribute to business development through networking events.
• Handle administrative duties and other responsibilities as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in managing caseloads dealing with motor and vulnerable road users.
• Experience in handling cases involving polytrauma, pain disorders, psychiatric disorders, moderate brain injuries, and fatal injury claims is highly desirable.
• Strong litigation skills, with the ability to handle all aspects from the issue of proceedings to trial.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Computer literacy and capability to undertake own typing.
• A team player who shows initiative, enthusiasm, and a common-sense approach to work.
