Litigation Paralegal – Business Interruption Insurance
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: Negotiable - c.£27k+

A well-established and growing multi-disciplinary legal practice in Manchester City Centre is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its dynamic Business Interruption Insurance Team.

Since its founding over 10 years ago, the firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, personalised legal services to both private and commercial clients. With specialisms ranging from financial mis-selling and commercial litigation to immigration and consumer rights, the practice is recognised as one of Manchester’s leading law firms.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated paralegal with litigation experience—particularly in business interruption claims—to take the next step in their legal career. The firm provides full training, a collaborative work environment, and genuine opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out pre-claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments
  • Drafting client correspondence, court documents, trial submissions, and instructions to counsel
  • Managing communication with clients, opposing parties, and third parties via phone, email, and in person
  • Proofreading and quality-checking legal documents
  • Supporting solicitors and team leaders with a variety of legal tasks and administrative duties
  • Maintaining accurate records, organising case files, and managing court hearing logistics using internal systems
  • Participating in settlement discussions, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution procedures
  • Attending court hearings and trials alongside counsel
Candidate Requirements

Essential:
  • A law degree (LLB, MSc)
  • Working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and Commercial Court Guide
  • Demonstrable experience in commercial and/or High Court litigation
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to handle large volumes of data
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Strong interpersonal and client care skills
Desirable:
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a litigation paralegal role
  • Experience managing multi-claimant cases and legal caseloads
  • Familiarity with business insurance disputes and basic accounting principles
