Essential Employment seeks a Litigation Paralegal in Central London on a full-time temporary basis. The role provides legal support on housing management and landlord-tenant matters, handling pre-action housing litigation under supervision and assisting solicitors in court and hearings.

The position involves drafting litigation documents, liaising with clients and external bodies, and maintaining case records while complying with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support on housing management and landlord-tenant matters.
• Assist with litigation, including possession proceedings, injunctions and disrepair claims.
• Draft pleadings, statements, notices and other litigation documents.
• Manage a caseload of pre-action housing litigation under supervision.
• Support solicitors and counsel in preparing cases for court and hearings.
• Liaise with housing officers, clients, external solicitors, courts and partner agencies.
• Provide guidance to witnesses and attend meetings and home visits when required.
• Maintain case management records in line with procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct legal research and help prepare legal notes, reports and correspondence.
• Support training and awareness sessions on housing management and landlord-tenant law.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide cover for colleagues within the legal team as required.

Full time hours on a temporarybasis

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support and assistance on a range of housing management and landlord and tenant matters.
• Assist with the conduct of litigation relating to:
  • Possession proceedings
  • Access injunctions
  • Anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases
  • Disrepair claims
  • Tenancy enforcement matters
• Draft legal proceedings, pleadings, witness statements, notices, applications and other litigation documents.
• Manage a caseload of pre-action housing litigation matters under supervision.
• Support solicitors, counsel and legal colleagues in preparing cases for court and hearings.
• Liaise with housing officers, clients, external solicitors, counsel, courts and partner agencies.
• Provide support and guidance to witnesses involved in legal proceedings, including attendance at meetings and occasional home visits where required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records in accordance with departmental procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct legal research and assist in preparing legal advice notes, reports and correspondence.
• Support the delivery of training and awareness sessions on housing management and landlord and tenant law.Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Provide cover for colleagues within the legal team as required.
