Job summary

Clyde & Co is seeking an experienced Litigation Executive to join the Volume ELPL Team based in Manchester. You will handle a defendant fast track caseload, draft pleadings, and manage all procedural steps from issue to trial while liaising with counsel, courts and insurers.

The role requires a precise, deadline-driven professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a busy, client-focused environment. This is a Manchester-based position within our ELPL Department.

The Role

Department : ELPL

Role : Litigation Executive

The Team

We are looking for an experienced Litigation Executive to join the Volume ELPL Team to be based in our Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an ELPL fee earner competent running a defendant caseload of litigated fast track matters.

Expected to:

  • Handle a caseload of c50 files at any one time.
  • Deal with all procedural aspects from issue through to trial.
  • Draft all pleadings.
  • Investigate and appraise liability prospects.
  • Demonstrate the ability to value personal injury using JC Guidelines and case law.
  • Assess claims for special damages.
  • Negotiate settlement where appropriate using persuasive arguments.
  • Have strong telephone negotiation skills.
  • Prepare witness statements for use in court proceedings, taken via telephone call or video call.
  • Attend conferences with counsel when required.
  • Conduct own telephone advocacy.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as claimant's solicitors, counsel, courts, brokers, policyholders and the insurer clients.
  • Have strong organisation skills and be able to use a case management system.
  • Ensure all Management Information is completed timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to client SLA requirements in terms of reporting and updates.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous ELPL litigation/fast track experience.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently by managing time in a fast pace environment.
  • A Professional manner with the ability to build relationship internally and externally.
