Job summary

TC Young LLP is seeking an enthusiastic solicitor with 2+ years PQE to join our Edinburgh office. The role involves working with Partners to grow the team, handling a diverse housing and dispute resolution caseload, including repossession and debt recovery, as well as Civil Sheriff Court and Court of Session matters.

You will need strong drafting and advocacy skills, confidence to work independently, and a collaborative approach to support trainees and paralegals as the team expands.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ PQE in civil litigation or housing and dispute resolution.
• Strong drafting and advocacy-ready communication skills.
• Ability to manage own caseload and work independently.
• Collaborative approach and support to trainees and paralegals.

Responsibilities

• Handle a diverse housing and dispute resolution caseload.
• Work closely with Partners to grow the team and practice area.
• Attempt repossession, debt recovery, and civil court work including Court of Session and Sheriff Court matters.
• Contribute to alternate dispute resolution where appropriate.

Are you looking to take the next step in your career? As our team continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious solicitor to help in promoting that growth. We are looking to appoint a solicitor with 2yr+ PQE based in our Edinburgh office.

This role will involve working closely with the Partners to continue to expand the team’s work and practice.The individual will enjoy an interesting and diverse case load, working on a range of housing and dispute resolution matters.

The team works closely with providers of social housing and the work will involve handling repossession cases, debt recovery, as well as conducting Civil Sheriff Court matters and Court of Session work and some alternate dispute resolution, with appropriate support from the wider team.

What we are looking for...

Ideally, you should have:

• civil litigation experience,
• strong drafting and advocacy-ready communication skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships and deliver clear, commercial advice
• confidence working independently and supporting others in a range of disputes
• experience managing your own caseload
• a collaborative approach, working within the team to support others, including trainees and paralegals
• ambition to build your practice and progress within a friendly, flexible firm, as the team grows
