Job summary
A rare and unique opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Radiographer to assist with the management of our Lithotripsy service
The post holder will act as a Practitioner for the Lithotripsy Service within the Urology Day Unit and will be responsible for performing and providing specialist expertise and guidance on Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) procedures to treat kidney stones, utilising either x-ray or ultrasound guidance.
The successful candidate will be responsible to help manage the 6-day lithotripsy service, providing high quality, efficient and patient-centred care, coordinating with key stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams and the Urology department to manage patient pathways and facilitate delivering continuous improvement.
We would consider applications from individuals who would not currently fulfill the full person specification for a band 7 post. However, applications are welcome from motivated and experienced Radiographer who could be considered for a Band 6 developmental role through to Band 7 on successful achievement of competencies. This would be assessed as part of the interview process.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will undertake clinical work within established quality standards of practice for imaging and urology (including NICE, BAUS, SoR and BMUS) and ionising radiation safety legislation (including IRMER and IRR17).The ideal candidate would have experience of working autonomously and be able to demonstrate their ability to prioritise workload, as well as having excellent interpersonal skills.
