Job summary

Boeing UK is seeking a Linux Engineer to join the Infrastructure Team in Milton Keynes. You will be responsible for day-to-day support and maintenance of the Red Hat Linux estate, including MoD IS programmes, with a hands-on focus on RHEL8/9, automation, and on-call duties.

The role involves patching, upgrades, OpenShift work, and collaboration across teams to improve efficiency through automation, monitoring incidents, and ensuring SLA/KPI targets are met in a secure, high-availability

Qualifications

• Experience with RHEL8/RHEL9 administration and support.
• Experience with patching, software implementations, and upgrades of Linux estates.
• Hands-on experience with container platforms and automation toolchains (Ansible, Ansible Tower).
• Experience with OpenShift upgrades, installations and configurations; large-scale migrations preferred.
• Knowledge of container monitoring tools and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• RHEL8 & 9 enterprise implementation and support.
• Perform patching, software implementations, and upgrades to the Linux estate.
• Support the delivery of automated Infrastructure
• Perform and automate patching and monitoring activities
• Work closely with other teams to improve efficiency
• Fault diagnosis and mitigation planning
• Be part of a 24x7 on-call team on a rotating roster
• Service and application migrations (RHEL & OCP)
• Contribute to design reviews for container platforms and automation toolchains
