Job summary

Boeing is hiring a Linux Engineer to join the Infrastructure Team in the UK. The role focuses on day‑to‑day support and maintenance of the Red Hat Linux estate, with emphasis on RHEL8/9, OpenShift, and automation to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure for MoD IS programs.

The successful candidate will patch, upgrade, and automate across the Linux estate, monitor service requests and changes, and collaborate with other teams to improve operational efficiency. On‑call duties are required.

Qualifications

• UK security clearance required or able to obtain.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8/9 administration.
• Experience upgrading and configuring OpenShift clusters at scale.
• Familiarity with container monitoring tools and metrics.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with automation toolchains (Ansible, Ansible Tower, GitLab/Jenkins).
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and perform on‑call duties.

Responsibilities

• RHEL8 & 9 implementation, patching, and upgrades.
• Support automated infrastructure delivery.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to improve efficiency.
• Monitor incidents, problems, and service requests; manage changes.
• Participate in 24x7 on‑call rota and extended hours support.
• Provide input on best practice for container platforms and automation toolchains.
