Airbus Defence and Space Limited in Stevenage is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust Linux infrastructure for our Digital Engineering team. You will lead configuration, deployment, and optimization of Linux systems and supporting hardware across multiple engineering projects.

The role emphasizes security compliance, collaboration with IT and security teams, and continuous improvement through R&D.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in Linux systems administration (RHEL).
• Experience with orchestration/automation tools like Ansible.
• Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, Perl or PowerShell.
• Ability to independently develop and deploy scalable Linux-based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain Linux infrastructure and hardware supporting the development environment.
• Provide strategic technical guidance during initiation and planning, capturing requirements and shaping technical strategies.
• Oversee end-to-end configuration/deployment of workstations and servers for diverse engineering groups.
• Collaborate with IT and business managers to address technical challenges and leverage Linux tech for project solutions.
• Work with Security teams to ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements through R&D and innovation.
