Job summary

Maxwell Bond is helping a Manchester-based technology company recruit a Linux Operations Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will work hands-on with Linux production infrastructure, servers and VPN platforms to keep critical systems secure, stable and performing reliably.

The role offers up to £45,000 plus bonus, hybrid working (2 days onsite per week), 25 days’ annual leave, life assurance, a home office budget and a learning & development budget.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Linux-based production infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with servers, VPNs and monitoring.
• Proactive approach to reliability, security and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supporting Linux-based production infrastructure.
• Supporting dedicated and virtual servers across the environment.
• Troubleshooting availability, performance and reliability issues.
• Monitoring systems, reviewing logs and deploying patches.
• Identifying vulnerabilities and managing infrastructure risks.
• Supporting VPN and data capture platforms.
• Working with the Operations team to improve reliability.
