University of York is seeking an exceptional Linux Team Leader to strengthen the infrastructure of a world-leading university. The ideal candidate will bridge our community, engaging effectively with undergraduate students, world-class academics, and professional support staff.

You will lead the Linux server infrastructure, AWS environment, and large filestores, shaping the technical roadmap and delivering high-impact projects in collaboration with IT Services.

Qualifications

• Experience managing people in a customer-focused environment.
• Extensive experience installing and managing Unix and Linux systems.
• Expertise using configuration management tools such as Puppet or Chef.
• Solid knowledge of network architectures and technologies.
• Understanding of high-availability IT systems in a complex organisation.
