We seek a dedicated Therapeutic Radiographer to join our friendly and innovative team. Applications are invited from qualified radiographers and students due to qualify soon. The position involves rotational work through the pre-treatment and treatment sections of the department. Candidates must be registered with the HCPC.
Graduate radiographers will receive support to develop skills and competencies to operate as autonomous practitioners with limited supervision. According to Agenda for Change Annex 20, skills for autonomous practice at Band 6 must be developed within 12 to 24 months of starting at Band 5.
Our radiotherapy services serve the populations of Tayside and North East Fife, delivering approximately 1400 new courses annually for various cancers, including specialized treatments like brachytherapy and SABR. The department features three Varian linear accelerators, a Canon Aquillion Wide Bore CT scanner, mould room, HDR brachytherapy facilities, and Raystation treatment planning system. We are a paper-light department expanding our SABR and IGRT capabilities, with upcoming equipment replacements and system upgrades.
Dundee, the fourth largest city in Scotland with about 148,270 residents, is undergoing significant riverside redevelopment. It boasts a vibrant art scene, including the Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre and the Victoria & Albert Design Museum. The city offers excellent transport links and easy access to Fife, Angus, and Highland Scotland.
