Job summary

NorPower is seeking a Linesman Class 1 to join our overhead line crew in the UK. You will work under the site Foreman to construct and refurbish lines, erect towers and poles, and install line equipment.

Applicants should have hands-on experience with wood poles and steel towers, be comfortable working at height, and follow written and verbal instructions within a collaborative team, with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/refurbishment of overhead lines (wood poles and steel towers).
• Ability to work at height using permanent attachment techniques.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Hold a full driving licence and be willing to obtain client authorisations if required.
• First Aid Certificate and H&S training are desirable.

Responsibilities

• As part of a squad, follow site Foreman instructions to construct/refurbish overhead lines.
• Assemble and erect steel towers and wood poles.
• String, tension, sag, joint, and clamp overhead conductors and stay wires.
• Install insulators and overhead line equipment.
• Assist in supervising, training, and coaching new staff.
• Comply with company policies, safety rules and environmental regulations.
• Participate in risk assessments and perform tasks safely.
• Ensure safe use and storage of all equipment and tools.
