Job summary

leaf HOSPITALITY is seeking a reliable Linen Porter to join the Housekeeping team at a stylish hotel on the M65 border of Hyndburn and Blackburn. The role focuses on moving and organizing linen to ensure guest environments remain clean and welcoming throughout the hotel.

You will support daily linen operations, assist with deliveries and coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to uphold high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day linen operation across the hotel.
• Distribute clean linen to housekeeping and operational departments.
• Collect and transport used linen throughout the property.
• Maintain linen stores and organize storage areas.
• Monitor linen stock levels and report shortages.
• Assist with deliveries and collections from external laundry providers.
• Support Housekeeping teams in maintaining standards.
• Follow manual handling, health and safety procedures.
• Help maintain back-of-house areas to a high standard.
• Create a clean, welcoming environment for guests.

This stylish hotel is off the M65, ideally located on the border of Hyndburn and Blackburn located within the Frontier Retail Park. Local attractions such as Blackburn's historic cathedral, the Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery, King George's Hall, and Blackburn Empire Theatre are only a 10-minute drive away.
The hotel encompasses 150 bedrooms and has substantial parking available for big group bookings. Our team will welcome you with a bright smile and are multiskilled to support you on both the reception desk as well as in our lounge, bar, and during breakfast. This is an important support role responsible for managing the movement and organisation of linen throughout the hotel, helping Housekeeping teams deliver clean, comfortable and welcoming environments for our guests.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the day-to-day linen operation across the hotel

• Distribute clean linen to housekeeping and operational departments

• Maintain linen stores and storage areas in a clean, safe and organised condition

• Monitor linen stock levels and report shortages or issues

• Assist with deliveries and collections from external laundry providers where applicable

• Support Housekeeping teams in maintaining operational standards

• Follow manual handling, health and safety and company procedures at all times

• Help maintain back-of-house areas to a high standard

• Contribute to creating a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for guests

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality or a similar role is desirable but not essential

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Reliable and proactive approach to work

• Physically capable of carrying out the duties of the role

• Positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues

• Good communication skills

• Commitment to maintaining high standards
