The Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth is seeking a reliable Laundry & Housekeeping Team Member. You will manage bedroom and restaurant linen, support the broader housekeeping team, and assist with occasional bedroom cleaning when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial washing machines, dryers and presses is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of laundry processes and fabric care.
• High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify stained, damaged or worn linen.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Able to work efficiently in daily bedroom and restaurant operations.
• Flexible and supportive within the wider housekeeping team.
• Physical ability to lift/move heavy laundry bags and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, fold and iron bedroom linens such as sheets and towels.
• Launder and press restaurant table linen to a crisp finish.
• Operate industrial washing machines, dryers and rotary irons safely.
• Inspect linen for stains or damage and record unusable items.
• Organise clean linen for housekeeping and restaurant teams.
• Keep laundry area clean, tidy, and safe.
• Follow health/safety, manual-handling and chemical-handling procedures.
• Support room attendants with cleaning bedrooms when required.
• Assist with cleaning public areas during busy periods or absences.
