Job description
Overview

Well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you\'ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day. The role offers job security within a growing, global business. We operate a busy fleet, so there’s always work available, and enhanced rates of pay for bank holidays. You\'ll be joining a friendly team that supports each other and shares traffic updates through WhatsApp.

Key Role Responsibilities

We don’t micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. If you like the independence of long stretches on the open road but want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’ll ensure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers on time. At some sites goods may be loaded/unloaded for you; at others you’ll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day. You’ll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer daily and completing a Defect Report if necessary. You will work to ensure everything is “right first time” for customers, internal and external, and as a great communicator you’ll keep customers happy, passing on any queries you can’t answer to your site manager quickly.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Class 1 Driving licence as a minimum
  • Driver CPC qualification card
  • Completed required DCPC training hours or be working towards them
  • Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and commitment to safe road use
  • A “can do” attitude
