Job summary

Nestlé Dalston Factory in Cumbria seeks two Line Operators for a fixed-term 12-month contract. You will work in a highly automated PLC-controlled environment on bagging lines, reporting to the Shift Manager, to ensure safe, efficient production of beverages including Nescafé and Coffee-mate.

Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience, strong team skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Training will be provided, with shift patterns 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Ideally, experience in manufacturing/production environment.
  • Previous Line Operator experience or similar is desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a team delivering safety, quality and production compliance.
  • Strong competencies and behaviours expected.

  • Operate equipment in accordance with Nestlé safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure safe and efficient running of your production area.

We are looking to hire two Line Operators to join our Manufacturing site based in Dalston, Cumbria. These will be offered on a Fixed Term contract for 12-months.

Nestlé's Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffee-mate. The factory is moving forward with continuous improvement principles and actively developing Lean/TPM processes so it's an exciting time to be involved.

Your impact

Reporting to the Shift Manager you will be working on one of our production areas, specifically our bagging area. Full training will be provided to operate safely within this area of the factory.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient running of your work areas in accordance with Nestle standards to produce quality products.

Other key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Running equipment adhering to all Nestle safety and quality standards.
  • Rigorous adherence to key standards for optimal running.
  • Use the 5 golden rules of TPM to improve line performance in all areas.
  • Continuously update own technical and operational skills.
Your ingredients for success

Ideally, you will come to us with experience in a manufacturing and production environment. If this is within an FMCG environment this would be advantageous but not essential.

Other qualities will include but not be limited to:

  • Previous Line Operator experience or similar is desirable.
  • Will be able to demonstrate strong competencies and behaviours.
  • Will have the ability to work as part of a team delivering compliance in safety, quality and production processes.
  • Will be able to communicate effectively with multiple functions displaying one team mentality.
