Job summary

Culina, the UK’s leading independent specialist supply chain partner, is looking for a production line operative in our Chilled & Fresh division. You will work on manual and automated lines to meet planned volume while adhering to QA and safety standards.

You will follow Safe Systems of Work, report hazards, check product quality, and support line leaders with correct packaging, dates, and pallet layout. Basic IT skills and knowledge of health and safety obligations are required; training will

Qualifications

• Experience in QA and safety practices within food manufacturing.
• Ability to operate on manual and automated lines and follow SOPs.
• Basic IT skills and use of integrated management systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safe Systems of Work and procedures.
• Report near misses, hazards, or defective equipment.
• Report accidents and support investigations.
• Adhere to Quality procedures and ensure products meet standards.
• Check dates and ensure correct packaging and pallet layout.
• Maintain line cleanliness and hygiene as required.
• Operate at required rate to meet line targets.
• Record time at shift starts and breaks.

Job Description

Working on a variety of manual/automated lines to meet planned volume and commercial targets, and in accordance with QA and safety standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Following all Safe Systems of Work and procedures
• Reporting any near miss incidents, hazards or defective equipment at any time
• Reporting any accidents and supporting investigations
• Adhering to all Quality procedures
• Reporting to Line Leader any faults in packed product e.g. poor seals coding difficult to read or missing
• Checking products and ensuring the right quality is packed
• Checking dates on incoming products for the Line Leaders
• Ensuring pallet layout is correct
• Keeping the line tidy – it keeps it safer and protects the product from foreign matter contamination
• Following personal hygiene rules e.g. hand washing and not taking loose items into the factory
• Following all Standard Operating Procedures
• Working at the required rate to achieve the line target
• Keeping time is expected at shift starts and breaks
• Working on your line area

Qualifications

• Food Manufacturing/Packaging background is essential for this role
• The ability to work within fast past environment
• Knowledge of Health & Safety obligations, although training will be provided
