Job summary

Gap Personnel Limited is recruiting for a Line Leader / Supervisor in Crewe to lead the production line on a monotony Monday to Friday schedule. You will allocate tasks, set up the line and maintain smooth product flow, ensuring targets are met without compromising safety or quality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team on a food production line.
• Good communication and the ability to motivate people and handle conflict fairly.
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety and traceability is required.
• Calm, decisive under pressure with sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Leading the line day to day: allocating tasks, setting up and starting the line, ensuring product flow.
• Hitting production, yield and output targets while upholding safety and quality.
• Ensure HACCP, CCPs and food safety controls are followed, including allergen controls.
• Run quality checks, verify labelling, coding and packaging accuracy.
• Maintain full traceability and accurate batch records from raw material to finished product.
• Enforce health and safety, PPE and stop the line if unsafe.
• Investigate accidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assist audits (internal, customer, BRCGS Issue 9) and coordinate with QA/Engineering.
• Train and mentor team; foster strong food safety culture.

Job Title: Line Leader / Supervisor

Job Description:

• Leading the line day to day: allocating tasks, setting up and starting the line, and keeping product flowing.
• Hitting production, yield and output targets without cutting corners on safety or quality.
• Making sure HACCP plans, CCPs and food safety controls are followed, including allergen, foreign-body and cross-contamination controls.
• Running quality checks through the shift and checking that labelling, coding and packaging are correct.
• Keeping full traceability from raw material to finished product, with accurate records and batch codes.
• Enforcing health and safety, PPE and safe systems of work, and stopping the line if something isn't safe.
• Investigating accidents and near misses, and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Supporting internal, customer and BRCGS Issue 9 audits.
• Working closely with QA, Engineering, Hygiene and Management, and handing over clearly between shifts.
• Training and mentoring your team and building a strong food safety culture.

Required Experience

• Experience leading a team on a food production line, ideally in chilled or frozen meat.
• A good working knowledge of HACCP, food safety, hygiene and traceability.
• An understanding of UK health and safety in a factory, including PUWER, risk assessments and PPE.
• A calm, decisive head under pressure, and the judgement to know when to escape.
• Clear communication and the ability to motivate people and handle conflict fairly.
• An eye for detail and accurate record keeping.
• A safety-first, continuous-improvement mindset.

Job Term: Permanent

Location: Crewe

x1 shift available: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 4:45pm
