Job description

Great opportunity to work as a Line Leader for our client's leading fruit and vegetable production site based in Alconbury.

This modern site features brand-new facilities, clean changing rooms, and plenty of opportunities for progression.

The pay rate is:

  1. Night Shift: £ per hour
  2. Overtime after 48 hours at: £ per hour

This is a full-time role working the following nights:

  • Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday

The working hours are:

7pm to 7:30am

Flexibility will be required to meet business demands.

Transport is provided from four locations in Peterborough.

Your Role as a Line Leader

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading and managing Production and Machine Operatives on the Citrus or Grape lines.
  2. Promoting best practices, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and working with Quality Control to maintain product freshness.
  3. Making decisions in a fast-paced environment, monitoring KPIs, and suggesting efficiency improvements.
  4. Creating a safe and supportive working environment, upholding company culture, and motivating your team.
  5. Completing daily reports, reporting breakdowns, and liaising with your Line Manager about issues on the line.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal Line Leader will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with adaptability and quick decision-making skills. You should be able to stay calm under pressure and make informed decisions to ensure smooth operations.

Additional requirements include:

  1. Previous supervisory or team management experience
  2. Experience in fresh produce or food production environments
  3. Strong communication, organisational, and people skills
  4. Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  5. Ability to adapt and solve problems quickly
  6. A commitment to excellence and team motivation
  7. Understanding of the production lifecycle or willingness to learn

Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
