Job summary

First Call Contract Services is recruiting for a Line Leader position based in Mendlesham, Suffolk. The role offers £15.66 per hour with weekly pay and a temp-to-perm path after a 12-week period depending on performance.

The successful candidate will optimise machine availability, ensure safety compliance, and liaise with operations to maximise productivity while maintaining maintenance records and handling some heavier lifting tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out basic operations on production machinery.
• Basic PC literacy.
• Experience operating PPTs (powered pallet trucks) or pallet stackers desirable.
• Good communications skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Optimize machine availability to meet all operational demands.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and other relevant legislation.
• Liaise with operations regarding servicing to maximise productivity.
• Work to improve Facilities Key Performance Indicators.
• Completing production job and data spreadsheets.
• Verifying correct product / labels / packaging etc is in the machine.
• Maintain planned maintenance records and provide an accurate history of the equipment to aid fault finding.
• Some physical work including heavy lifting.

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a nationally recognised logistics business considered to be the leader in its field. Pay rates from £15.66 per hour depending on shifts. The role of Picking and Packing Operative is based in Mendlesham, Suffolk.

Shifts for Line Leader:

• 14.30 - 23.00, Monday to Thursday
• 14.10 - 22.40 on Fridays

Pay:

• £15.66 per hour
• Paid weekly
• This is a temp to perm role, with a permanent contract available from 12 weeks depending on performance and attitude

Main Duties of Line Leader:

• Optimise machine availability to meet all operational demands
