Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Production Line Leader in Howden to oversee daily production activities and ensure machinery is prepared and operating safely. You will support the team, drive efficiency, and uphold health and safety standards across the production floor.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in manufacturing, including supervisory roles, and can work independently with a flexible approach to occasional shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in production or manufacturing environments is required.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Able to operate and prepare machinery with attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production line activities and ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Prepare machinery for operation and ensure equipment is running effectively.
• Lead and support production colleagues to achieve business and production requirements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure PPE use.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues during machine operation.
• Make effective decisions and prioritise tasks according to production needs.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and other areas of the business.
• Work autonomously while taking ownership of production activities and resolving issues where appropriate.

Job description

Location: Howden, near Goole
Salary: £29,400 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm; Friday, 6:00am–12:00pm
(Occasional shift work may be required as and when needed)

The Role

As a Production Line Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing production activities, ensuring machinery is prepared and operating effectively, and supporting a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production line activities and ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Prepare machinery for operation and ensure equipment is running effectively.
• Lead and support production colleagues to achieve business and production requirements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during machine operation.
• Make effective decisions and prioritise tasks according to business and production needs.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and other areas of the business.
• Work autonomously while taking ownership of production activities and resolving issues where appropriate.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, particularly working with machinery.
• Previous supervisory or Production Line Leader experience.
• Experience preparing and operating machinery.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.A strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
• The ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
• Good decision-making and prioritisation skills.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• A flexible approach, with the willingness to work occasional shifts when required.
