Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is recruiting a Production Line Leader for our Howden site. You will oversee daily production activities, ensure machinery is prepared and running effectively, and support a safe, productive working environment.

The role requires supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing setting, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of health and safety procedures. Occasional shift work may be required to meet production needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production line activities and ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Prepare machinery for operation and ensure equipment is running effectively.
• Lead and support production colleagues to meet business and production requirements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues during machine operation.
• Make effective decisions and prioritise tasks according to production needs.
• Communicate with colleagues and other areas of the business.
• Work autonomously and take ownership of production activities.

Job description

Location: Howden, near Goole
Salary: £29,400 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm; Friday, 6:00am-12:00pm
(Occasional shift work may be required as and when needed)

The Role

As a Production Line Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing production activities, ensuring machinery is prepared and operating effectively, and supporting a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production line activities and ensure smooth and efficient production.
• Prepare machinery for operation and ensure equipment is running effectively.
• Lead and support production colleagues to achieve business and production requirements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during machine operation.
• Make effective decisions and prioritise tasks according to business and production needs.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and other areas of the business.
• Work autonomously while taking ownership of production activities and resolving issues where appropriate.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, particularly working with machinery.
• Previous supervisory or Production Line Leader experience.
• Experience preparing and operating machinery.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
• The ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
• Good decision-making and prioritisation skills.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• A flexible approach, with the willingness to work occasional shifts when required.
