A leading global producer of polyester films is seeking a Line Engineer in Dumfries, Scotland. This role involves overseeing PET film production, ensuring safety, and coordinating operations. The Line Engineer is accountable for PET film production on their assigned asset and
plays a key role in monitoring, reporting, and improving production performance.
Working as part of a small Asset Team, the Line Engineer is tasked with the daily coordination of safe and efficient film production operations to meet the production plan. The Line Engineer plays a key role in the coordination of raw material and critical consumable availability and in the coordination of corrective maintenance.
The Line Engineer is responsible for the planning of efficient product transitions and the development and issuing of cleaning schedules, grade change instructions and equipment start-up and shutdown checklists.
The Line Engineer is responsible for the troubleshooting of both short, medium and long-term process and product issues. They support process and product development and therefore can be called upon to assist with production trials.
The role is based on days but requires some flexibility to respond to product or process issues that might arise outside of normal working hours.
This Line Engineer has no direct reports and responds to the Plant 5 Technical Manager.
The Line Engineer works as part of a small team, but also collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Planning and Technical personnel daily.
